HARPSICHORD HAVEN invites audiences of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of Baroque & Contemporary music & short film. This free event 5pm–6pm in the beautiful “blue room” upstairs in The People’s Museum of Limerick will include a triple launch: 1) a PREMIERE PERFORMANCE of Early Music on Yonit Kosovske’s brand new tabletop ottavino lute-harpsichord, 2) a CD LAUNCH of “Apricity”—Yonit’s new album of contemporary music for solo & collaborative harpsichord, featuring live demonstration of new sounds for harpsichord with Yonit Kosovske & composer Eoin Callery, culminating with 3) a FILM SCREENING of “Litany” by composer/filmmaker Justin Grounds—in homage to 4 animals who recently went extinct, featuring music for baroque violin, harpsichord, hurdy-gurdy, and hand-pan. Free entry. Drop-ins welcome. Best to arrive early to assure a seat, as space is limited. This event is produced in collaboration with Now and Then Media, Ltd. and H.I.P.S.T.E.R. (Historically Informed Performance Series, Teaching, Education and Research).
